Carlisle Musical Society is made up of a group of enthusiastic and dedicated people who are keen to take part in lively and professionally produced shows. We are essentially a team of people who work very hard behind the scenes and on stage.

The committee meets regularly to ensure that we achieve our aims. Our rehearsals on Friday evenings at Morton Community Centre are a mixture of fun and hard work. There is a good spirit among members and many friendships are formed. This has led to several social occasions which can be enjoyed by members, friends and any other guests.

Carlisle Musical Society History The Society was created in 1928 on the initiative of Charles Eastwood who was the organist and choirmaster of St Cuthbert’s Church.

He was also for many years a teacher of music at Carlisle Grammar School (now part of Trinity School)
